Liner Notes

AFRIJAM MUSIC is here to last for generations to come.

The root of our music is African. It is the composer and performer who choose what elements are most dear to them and then present it to the world as Music and Rhythms of life, the sound of Talking Drums from a village to a modern City, finding flowers in an enchanted forest.

Afrijam Music is a guitar based modern African music using Nigerian Yoruba music presented in a new way. All the instruments are played live with no computer generated parts. This CD has been in development for sometime. The artist hopes the listener will give it the same love and care it took to make it. The CD will grow on you the more you hear it. Have fun with the new music of Africa.

Pirates Of Africa

The Pirates attempt to right their experience of history, the scramble for Africa and its current impact on the population The history of a proud and wonderful people, The untold cultural benefits to different parts of the globe because of the local population of people of African descent in the diaspora .

The Pirates were forced into their present existence because of circumstances beyond their control. Their inability to have a meaningful existence.

Their societies do not benefit from their countries natural resources. Instability, Political strife and many other injustices dominate. Musicians as guardians of African tradition have a duty to expose injustice and corruption so the world can be a better place for everyone to live in harmony rich or poor.

Afrobeat Night Music

Afrobeat is best heard at night in a party atmosphere. The song and its message is to uplift West Africans from the daily misery of their lives, living in countries blessed with natural resources while the majority of the population are unable to benefit from this. Our history of dictatorships and failed political systems high inflation and insecurity of life is the result.

Palm Wine

A favorite traditional drink in West Africa, direct from the Palm Tree as well as a Guitar based West African music. Beware both are spell binding.

Ife Oh

A love song in Yoruba. What happens when two people meet, fall in love and all the responsibilities that life brings their way.

Ibadan City

Living in Ibadan, visiting interesting places, Sabo, Mapo, Mokola, Molete, and going shopping for everything you need at Dugbe Market.

Lagos Jumping

Lagos is one of the most interesting places on earth. In every CD, different aspects of living in Lagos is explored. Just being there, walking around, driving a car in traffic, going out on weekends, you will begin to love this city.

Yan Mu Yan Mu (The Mosquito Song)

The eternal pest, always buzzing disturbing your life. No sleeping at night, no walking among the trees, your friendly mosquito follows you everywhere trying to extract an ounce of blood. An uninvited guest, ignore it at your own peril.

Olopa (The Police)

It is strange that the key theme is that both the African Police and American Police attempt to extract money from the passer by illegally. As a black male you survive the African one but be on your guard with the other one, don’t risk your life, your family or friends. All the rumors you heard are true. To be fore warned is to be ready.

The Giraffe

One of our favorite African animals wandering in the savannah, across lakes and streams. Here we join a Giraffe in its daily exploits while trying to survive in the wild. An instrumental journey.

CD Cover image

The CD Cover image is an artist’s impression of modern day piracy. It depicts a shore scene where African Pirates have taken their most important prisoners ashore while waiting for ransom as well as the reaction of the local population. This is a very serious economic and political message of how our daily actions affects people in other continents.
